A long-time apprentice of Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel, Pompon renewed the art of animal sculptors in the early XX century with his minimalist style. He simplified shapes and smoothed surfaces to remove all frills. “It is the movement that determines the form”. Inspired by the animals he observed in the countryside, the rabbit is captured in full swing.
