A PLACE DEDICATED TO JOY

Baccarat and Alain Ducasse have reimagined the historic Maison Baccarat in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, within city’s Golden Triangle, transforming it into a vibrant space for experiences, memorable moments and serendipitous encounters at the intersection of art and craftsmanship. The artwork on display by Baccarat resonates with the culinary vision of Alain Ducasse.

Baccarat chandelier in crystal, table and chairs in wood

A maison for artists par excellence, the 11 place des États-Unis hôtel particulier, taken over by Baccarat in 2003, was home to the finest parties of the cultural avant-garde in the 1920s. Faithful to this joyous heritage, Baccarat celebrates its reopening by inviting guests to come and live there every day, amongst artwork profoundly inspired by crystal creations.

Right from the entrance, transformist artist Harry Nuriev interprets the origins of crystal. A few steps away, a chapel of light, an immersive installation by Pierre Tatin, takes viewers into the heart of Baccarat's material.

Throughout the Maison, particularly in the restaurant, the aura of the Jean-Guillaume Mathiaut’s raw oak sculptures resonates with the sparkle of the crystal.

Inside the boutique, Philippe Nigro pays tribute to the Baccarat Manufacture, a celebration that continues in the tasting cellar where the painter Gérard Garouste illustrates a dance of the four elements – Water, Earth, Air and Fire – essential to the alchemy of crystal.

Under a sky of crystal rain, Chef Alain Ducasse, alongside Christophe Saintagne and Robin Schroeder, invite you to enjoy an unexpected gastronomic experience where spontaneity reigns. At the table, nothing is static, everything is in movement. The menu's construction has no common narrative; it is composed of dishes that complement, react to and collide with one another. A squash flavored with coffee transports you to a burner factory where roasting is in full swing. A leek with black truffle evokes a sensual scene where the vegetable surrenders to the lust of the mushroom. Shredded lobster in a rose tapioca bath makes you feel like Cleopatra in a donkey milk bath.

In the luminous setting of the Midi-Minuit Bar, mixologist Margot Lecarpentier's creations, with or without alcohol, can be enjoyed from midday to midnight, including tea, champagne and pastries. Conceived with the joy and brilliant cheekiness for which she is known, the cocktails follow the seasons but also the hours that pass throughout the day. Whether spending a day, an evening or just a moment before treating themselves, mixology enthusiasts enter a parallel world where what they drink is designed with Baccarat glasses in mind.

Baccarat and Alain Ducasse also embrace the role of curators and invite artists into the ballroom one evening a month. On the menu: concerts, conversations, conferences, performances and signings to explore literature, fashion, music, the arts of living, theater...

To step into the boutique on the ground floor of the maison is to spend a moment with Baccarat’s artisans. Designer Philippe Nigro drew inspiration from the Manufacture for its scenography. An evocation of the old pot furnace in the hot room directs the space’s perspective. Timeless icons and new creations are unveiled, including the 260th anniversary collection designed by Marcel Wanders.
